Menu del Dia is back after the Piccolina x MoVida colab - at least for a few weeks until we might finally be able to swing open the doors to MoVida properly! This week, instead of diving into another regional cuisine we're diving into another authentic pan-Iberian tradition; treating football as if it is a religion! It's not El Classico till the 4th of November but Victorian element in the kitchen are just as excited for the Grand Final weekend. Even if we can't have parades and the MCG will be eerily quiet on the day, Ewen and the team have put together a fantastic spread to accompany you through a day of footy, beers, long winded punditry and endless jokes about what Queenslanders know about AFL,..
The menu kicks off with fortifying breakfast - house sourdough, eggs, chorizo and Padron peppers. Lunch is our take on some of the MCG's signature dishes - although braised duck pies with house-made puff pastry may set you up for disappointment when you do finally return to watching the footy live... We'll then making a longer than usual detour through the tapas section to keep you snacking away through the game before asking you to fire up the barbecue to for dinner. (Don't worry, if you don't have a BBQ everything is perfectly achievable indoors on a frying pan.) It's a great menu and we think it'll be a perfect part of your long weekend!
Oh, and to keep the Footy theme running, as well as the usual wine match we'll be dropping off slabs and six-packs of cold Moritz Tinnies too!
The details - the pack is $165.00 delivered. Packs are available on Fridays and Saturdays. Deliveries will happen in the afternoon between 2pm and 5pm. The chefs clock in early, start by proving sourdough, and making soffrito, then everything is prepped and packed by 1pm. So if you order the Friday pack, you'll have provisions for Saturday sorted. At the moment we're limited to 50 packs a day, for delivery just Fridays and Saturdays. There's also the option of matching wines - so if you'd like a bottle of something on the side click here to add it to your cart.
