Alvar de Dios 'Vaguera'

'Vaguera' is a single 0.5ha parcel of mixed vines sourced  the village of Maderal that is from just outside of the Toro borders. The vines are 95 years old and planted at 900-950m absl. The wine is a straight expression of Doña Blanca. 

Alvar purchased the vineyard in 2009 and had to nurse it back to health as nobody had really worked the site since 2006. 

The fruit is all harvested by hand, pressed gently and the fermented in neutral 225L and 700L used French oak barrels by indigenous yeasts.
