The Albarino is named after the Cies islands that are off the coast of Rias Baixas as an ode to a traditional style of farming and producing Albarino prior to the 1980's.
'Cies' Albarino is sourced from a selection of 7 vineyards around the town of Meano, that typically produce wines that are more aromatic with higher acidity. The vineyards date back to 1954 and are just a mere 1km apart with the Salnes subzone. The grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts and the wine is aged in a combination of stainless steel and large, old, 2,000L wooden barrels.
