A deft and lively mixture of Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cabernet and Merlot.
Emilio Valerio’s Garnacha Tempranillo is the village wine of Dicastillo, sourced from several small plots ranging from 800 metres on the edge of the Montejurra mountain, down to 500 metres on the flats at the base of town.
Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cabernet and Merlot are all whole bunch fermented and very lightly worked, creating intense blue and black fruit over a core of mountain herb and chewy tannin.
The wine carries the fruit weight and density that's typical of the Navarra region, but thanks to the granitic soils and altitude of the Montejurra, and a light touch in the winery, there’s a deftness and liveliness here that’s rarely seen in the DO Navarra.
