The epitome of elegant, traditional Rioja.
The 2007 Gran Reserva 904 comprises Tempranillo and around 10% Graciano from vineyards of a minimum of 40 years of age in Briñas, Labastida and Villalba. It was aged in four-year-old American oak barrels from April 2008 with manual racking by candle every six months until being bottled in November of 2012. From 2012 until it's release in mid 2017 they were kept in La Rioja Alta's underground cellars in Haro.
This is a superbly elegant Rioja, only just medium bodied yet with immense concentration: a plethora of age and oak characters wrapped around a tight core of red cherry. Long, light and fine, it seems as if it’s just beginning to hit its straps and will continue to develop gracefully for years to come. The last vintage of 904 to be released ended up being Number 1 on the Wine Enthusiasts' Top 100 Wines in the world in 2016, we think this vintage is every bit as good.
